QUALIFICATION

In the pitoresque sorroundings of the castle Bouzov a sprint qualification races were hold. The organizers prepared two courses for each class. In the Women A-heat we had even two winners: Daria Panchenko (Saint-Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation) and Liga Valdmane (Latvian Academy of Sport Education). The third position took one of the biggest favourite Laura Ramstein (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich). The best athlete in the Women B-heat Tereza Janošíková (University Palacký Olomouc) achieved also the fastest time totally with 10:03. On second position in this heat finished Judita Traubaite (Vilnius University) and Mariia Kholomianskaia (Irkutsk state university) took third position.

 

FINAL

After the lunch moved athletes as well as organizers to Mohelnice where the final sprint competition took place. Womens turn was also this time earlier than mens one. Tereza Janošíková (Palacký University Olomouc) confirmed her form and won with time 11:36. With 12 seconds loss took Virag Weiler (Budapest University of Technology and Economics) the second place followed by Laura Ramstein (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich). Three students of Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich splitted first three places. The very first European University Champion title won Ricardo Rancan with 7 seconds lead before Florian Attinger and 16 seconds to Jannis Schönleber.
